Symmetry on modular assets

Hey guys im making a modular sci-fi corridor, and have a few pieces in mind. The first is just a straight section of the corridor, the second is a 45 degree turn section, and the third is a 22.5 degree turn section.

Now i've only modeled half of the corridor, and am planning on using the symmetry modifier to complete the other half. But as you can see in this picture when using symmetry on the 45 degree piece the straight section mirrors properly but the angled section does not. Is there any way to use the symmetry modifier to match the angled section? Ive tried playing around with the settings in the modifier but they dont help. I also tried detaching all the pieces of the corridor and altering the pivot point of the angled piece so that it was perpendicular to the angled piece, but when i applied the symmetry modifier the same thing still happened.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks,
big

The symmetry modifier does not support using anything other than a plane for symmetry.

You can quickly break the angled pieces into 3 pieces - two straights and the angled bit, and symmetry the straights - I think you'd have to manually build the angled bit out but given your geometry that should be simple.

You can do it if you detach the angled piece and adjust the pivot point and then delete the old symmetry and apply a new one. Alternatively, you can click the Symmetry modifier to get into gizmo edit mode and you can move the mirror axis about and rotate it.
