I am currently modeling a weapon and decided to model the scope in a separate file.
After exporting the scope and import it into max i get this weird problem when i use turbosmooth...
Yeah, it looks like you got some issues there, though I'm not 100% if its model or just the viewport that might be glitchy. You should try and export both the high and low mesh and import them into XNormal and look at them in their 3d viewer, see if it does the same with the weird shading, just to see if its an issue with your 3ds max.
But before that, a little trick you can try as well, which often works with weird isse, is to take your model, remove the turbosmooth, then create a box and with the box, attach your model, and then delete the box polygons.
I applied a symmetry modifier to it -> editable poly -> deleted the origional model = looks kinda fixed -> applied another symmetry modifier (so now the symmetry is the same as when it started) -> FIXED!
When you did the attach thing, did you attach the model to the box, or the box to the model? Because the trick wouldn't work unless you attach the model to the box (attach old geo to new geo)

Its defiantly one mesh. The annoying thing is that i have NO problems atall with it....intill i use turbo smooth.
I obv have to use tb to make the high poly so atm i have hit a wall .

Attaching box then deleting polygons = doesnt work
Its almost like you cant urbosmooth a imported model
I could just model the scope again but i kinda would like to fix this so i know for future reference.

Now im getting this when i turn off wireframe mode..
the reset thing worked just perfect
Thankyou guys for all your help
