[Mixamo Contest] Girl Assasin or Archer

Hey Guys, Im new here in Polycount I've come from gameartisans yeah yeah i know, Just wanted to start in this community with this awesome contest. I have never modeled a female before so I want to make a female for this one, Still thinking about the weapons if she is an assasin I was thinking maybe double mini crossbows... Not sure yet, here is a quick concept just blocking out ideas :)

I picture her more modern, with a leather jacket but still with an armor, really playinh with different time periods in this one!

looks more like a 80ies Hair Rock guitarrist to me :/

right now it feels a bit strangely mixed with the white boots, black jacket, randomly placed armor etc. and that stare, man she really stares in a very creepy way

I would simplify down the color palette and really aim to nail down one style of armor. It'll be a lot easier on you and yield a better product. Also before you get too hyped about her weapon, I don't think you actually have much of a choice.

"1. Choose a weapon type, create the character (male or female) you imagine wielding it. Use the weapons provided in the download link on the main contest page or create your own weapons. Be as creative as possible!"

The wording isn't exactly air tight though so maybe it's best to check with the contest official first.

Me too.. :) Yes, her face expression is too "surprised", the eyes are too staring and the eyebrows are too high. Try to avoid that when you get further into sculpting.. The chin and jaw are probably a bit heavy too.. Good luck :)

So I have changed the concept a little bit, got rid of the jacket and I came up with a second concept of the firs itteration....

After that I just draw something I think it came up a little better, I guess I concept better in hand drawing than in photoshop lol :poly122: Wish I had a scanner

your proportions are madly off, the top is tiny and the bottom is huge! her foot is bigger than her chest!
I suggest you do some anatomy study, off concepts lead to off models.

part of wht makes it look like that is the angle that i took the picture from, I couldnt take it correctly because it gave a shadow of myself

I fiddled with a warp tool in gimp and the best I could get it still had the arms too thin, the shoulders too small, the head too small, the breasts too large at least in comparison to the body, etc.
the point still stands that you should do some anatomy study.

Thanks bombshell, I started doing gestures today drawing. I was reading one of the woman tutorial threads and I really need to step up my 2D skills :) I think that 30 minute gesture drawing and anatomy study will help me alot in my projects. I did some progress on this chick as well:

You're maybe bad at drawing but the sculpt looks good ^^. So, just don't care about the concept, don't try to do the same shapes in 3D, they WILL look bad. Just take good refs and adapt them to your character in 3D.
