Starting a new portfolio piece. I decided i needed something with an anatomical focus in my folio, so i'm going to be doing a boxer in shorts/gloves/boots. I want to use slightly exaggerated proportions aswell just to keep it interesting. I really like the way the head meshes in brink are done, so im leaning towards that for facial style. also really dig spacemonkeys sagat model

I did a brink style face as a practise for this project yesterday, and apart from getting distracted and not finishing it i think its a style i could definately polish up to a decent level
Here's where i'm currently at with the proportions/anatomy. Would really like to get some opinions on it.

Everything looks really good, id widen the obliques a bit so theres a tiny bit of an hourglass shape from the ribs and obliques
And the legs just dont make much sense

you can see the thighs in that picture and also how the waist comes out a bit before going to the legs
If you have an iphone/ipod the app "mara3d" is an excellent muscle reference, its quite amazing.
I think im done with the body now, need to work on the face and then its onto clothing.
Here's how the bakes turned out. Just AO+Cavity+Bent normals + Vcols making up the diffuse right now. I'l be writing some info on bent normal maps tomorrow because ive spoken to a lot of people who have never heard of them and their uses, so i'l post that up in here when its done.
@Add3r thanks man, those were just my flat bakes straight out of xnormal, i didnt do much to the spec before posting. I wouldn't like to fight him either :P
@Jessica Thanks!
Alright, so i textured him and got him rigged. here are my final renders He's 9k tris and uses a 2048x2048 diff spec gloss normal. I'l upload wires and flats soon.
