Hi guys! Just wanna show my updated work in this contest.
I chose the male assassin. BTW, he is a noble assassin so expect it to be like that but I would love to hear your suggestions and comments anyway.:poly124:

below are screenshots of an updated version including colored version(still wip btw), details for the armor, mesh hair. Also, I altered some parts like the gauntlets where Jeffreak suggested and changed the buckle. I am trying to do intricate designs but I think it will destroy the whole appearance of the character. I don't know...
the upper part only.
I think this is sooo elegant for an assassin. What do you think?
don't get me wrong, i love the whole dark elf assassin style and theme, but elegant is definitely not a word i'd use for it.
how are you gonna do your normals btw?
Hi there! Um... Yeah, I realized it. Thanks for pointing that out anyway...but what do you think the best word to describe it?
Hello! yeah it's painted over. I'm still playing with the colors and armor ornates...whatever you call it...and will sculpt the details later on. I will post it soon!
Hi! Yeah...I think bright red will do... Thanks!:)
HI! Yeah... but I tried to mix them all up. and this is the result...but I guess I'll go back to design one. More changes coming on. I really find it hard to choose among them. Thanks anyway!
I altered some parts in the model. The gauntlets, shoulder pads and added the weapon. Hope to start the sculpting already!!! Please crit, crit, CRIT! Thanks!:poly136:
For the blades, I suppose that they are something like Bloodrayne's and Vampi's blades, right ?
it's hard to understand, you should "separate" the blade and the handle, don't do a single piece of metal.
Hi! Um yes, yes it's just like that!. Anyway, it's just a single piece of weapon for now. Um...maybe i'll try to adjust the boots as you mentioned. Anyway! Thank you for the crit! Keep them going!
BTW, do you think the weapons are too big?
here's a z brush version of my character. No details yet.
I'm starting to do the sculpting on the upper part of the body.
He may ended up a dragon assassin or a phoenix assassin. Gonna post the final concept later with final color themes as well.
Hope to finish the sculpting and retopo this weekend!!!
The feet looks odd. Will add more organic detailing on armors,gauntlets,...
Thanks!
color theme options. What color do you think would look good?
The yellow one really remember Scorpion and the blue one Sub Zero from Mortal KKKKombat. I like the orange one and the blue/green shades of the blue one.
Well, they all looks good ^^.
Anyway, your sculpt looks great!
We have 1week to go! keep up the good work!!
^__^
@Moogart: YUP! One week to go!!!Good luck to us all~!!!
It's good to know that the deadline has been extended. For that, I was able to download a trial version and study marmoset...This is what I've got so far...I did basic rigging to be able to achieve the pose. Take note that I'm not going to submit it....I have to fix some issues and it's only a test render...I got the BG elsewhere...I don't know who made it...:poly122:
Hi! Yup I will add some stuffs...Thanks!
The texture looks good, more "assassin" than your previous attempts ^^.
Thanks!
Hi man! I used marmoset.
But the MR render is really bad imo. You have some really disturbing light spots. And for the overall look of it, there are some things I find strange ( but it's just my mind ) :
- we don't really understand the weapons, especially the right one because of the angle. I had the same probleme last year with a viking wielding two axes, in the same basic pose. I suggest you change the pose and try to do an assymetrical one, try to show the blades more.
- the lighting on the loincloth is really disturbig. The main light seems to come from the left, but the loincloth looks lit from the right, and there is no secondary light on the character.
- as I said the bright spots are disturbing. Could be better to have a real "rim light" or backlight.
Here is a pic :
Hi Texelion! You really have keen eyes! Hehe..
Yes, It's a rim light...Yeah, I find it too distracting specially on the loincloth but I already fix that. The rim light's a lot smoother now. I am now working on the final pose. I'll post all the things next week.
