Last year I worked on this environment already but I didn't really had the time to work on it that much and also lost the motivation. Few weeks ago I had decided to finish this piece up and I am really curious what y'all think of the result. After seeing The Last of Us art dump I was a bit intimidated xD but heck I can really use the feedback to improve the scene. Please drop a comment
THanks for your time!

Two high poly screenies, couldn't find the others;
You have some really top notch work here both within technical and artistic abilities, I'm really surprised that you haven't had more attention from this thread. You certainly deserve it.
I made a little breakdown how I did the water shader, I think some of the nodes got lost due to a crash but most of it still applies to whatever I showed in the animated gif.
To be honest, I don't use DDO or NDO that much. The only time I used NDO was to create the sci-fi floor tiles (which you can see on my blog).
Besides that, I've only used DDO to get a good specular and gloss begin value for the material I'm aiming to create. Besides that I love to do it myself by hand in Photoshop
Work in progress on a creature based on some concept art from Dead Space. Not happy with a few parts but probably need to mess around with it a bit longer.
Holy damn, your work is awesome as hell, tell me.
How did you do the ribbon on your weapon, I have been trying to get that effect for so long, I just can't do it!

I used a spline to roughly get the right size en simply extruded a plane along the spline, then I added some thickness. I gave the weapon a Zbrush pass, so there I messed around with it some more hope it helps!
Experimenting with some landscape creation with a bit of texturing, after this I imported it in UDK and Cryengine, not sure in which one I'll be doing the final version.

Small weapon study I did.
Here's another study on the art style of Gears of War Judgment, also wrote a quick blogpost for it.
Don't forget to check it out!
Everything is sculpted in zbrush, textured in PS and rendered in UDK.

been a while since the last time I have posted something in my sketchbook. Here's a small update: (blugh, facebook compression)
Technical experimentation to create water drops in realtime.
