You Better!!, just kidding, i'm sure CA will make it awesome. Super excited, havent played a Total War since the last Rome, not for a lack of want, more of a computer performance/lack of funds problem.
Yes! Rome Total War was by far the best, it was simple but had alot of underlying complexity about it. Who didnt like getting a unit of the most elite beserkers and sending them agianst a full unit of peasents and not losing one. Thank You for this game!
I've been a huge fan of the series since Medieval 1 came out and I swear that the loading/turn times keep getting worse every time a new game is released. I really wanted to enjoy Shogun II, but half the time I was just staring at a loading bar or an unresponsive campaign map.
That said I'm super excited to hear about the game. I had spent countless hours with vanilla Rome, RTR, Europa Barbarorum and dozens of other mods. I'm hoping that a new engine means we will get back the mod support. I recall CA guys praising Steam Workshop a short while ago, so Im really hoping for something.
Im easy to please CA, give me some mods and reasonable loading times and I will love you forever
I'm slightly scared on how they are doing the whole managing a legion instead of a squad. Because I rather like the squads and how you can grow attached to them and they are your own creation. Like TeaandCigarettes said I hope you dont have to wait to long between turns.
So excited for this, and the separate tech trees sound like a great idea, one of my main gripes with the first Rome was that the barbarians could only technologically advance a little but then they where at a permanent disadvantage.
Oh hell yeah! Being playing Total War for over a decade now and it just doesn't stop giving! If you guys have Shogun 2 I highly recommend The Sekigahara Campaign, it basically tweaks the original Shogun 2 campaign without changing to much. But it also introduces some new gameplay concepts and a nicer balance of units. I love the balance between guns, arrows and infantry. Its literally perfect for gameplay. The Campaign also doesn't become trivialized when you get to a certain point in power. It keeps providing a challenge and balance all the way to the end!
P.S. if you have old Total War games you played but didn't like much try the mods. Often you will find a balance that suits what you always wanted from the game. Although without a doubt CA have always had an amazing foundation by itself.
Looks incredible! I like the move toward more detailed city combat.
I don't suppoes the load times have been improved since Shogun 2? Or the coop synching issues... Every time I launched the game I had to sit there in disbelief wondering what the fuck was taking so long. :0

just outta curiosity, why no china warlord period?
I will clear info with comms. dept tomorrow and maybe give you some info in that area? Possibly, allegedly etc.
It's certainly an interesting historical period!
PS. Give Mauro a slap for me and tell him 'the anatomy is all wrong'.
stopped at Medieval II since Steam is a requirement rather than an option
otherwise I would say
Really hard to resist after seeing these screenshots, but I will stay strong.:poly142:
