Went with a couple friends and was very surprised at how good it was.
I haven't laughed that hard in a very long time, nor do I ever remember a theater audience laughing so loud/hard.
I was a bit hesitant when I first heard about Ted but after seeing the trailer, the part where the bear is driving the car sold it for me. So I'm looking forward to it now.
Well, Ted is essentially one of those Random Family Guy moments, only put into a Full Length Movie and instead of having Chickens or Dogs talking, we have a come to life Teddy Bear, be the entire 'Man Child Comedy' with 'Human's Girlfriend who wants to see her boyfriend grow up and leave the bear behind' kinda of deal.
There are lots of funny moments in the movie, but overall, it's nothing special per say.
Ha! Movie was sold out, went to see Brave instead.
Xoliul, I kinda get that too but I feel like the absurdity of the story might be good as whole. In a way I am willing to let myself be surprised by it. Will see!
I dunno man, my sense of humor must be real different, i didn't even smile once seeing those trailers.
That's somewhat how I felt. I found the thunder and beeping cashier machine bit amusing. But since I tend to enjoy the Family Guy type shows I'd prolly like it in context.
I laughed a lot during the movie but I typically do with Macfarlane's stuff. It was very much a 'typical' Macfarlane affair: Topical jokes mixed in with some interesting flashbacks/sideways views, classic jazz overlays and fart jokes.
This movie was so funny! It does tend to be more sophmoric humor more then it is clever humor like you would see in Futurama. But it is just so funny, the funny thing is you try not to take is seriously but you kinda get engroused in the story a little bit. Everyone was saying they couldnt here because of the laughing, I was lucky enough to live in the middle of nowhere so only like 20 people were there.
Honestly, I wasn't impressed with the movie. The story is pretty much non-existent and what little there is is entirely predictable. Basically you sit around in between filler and look for the two to do something funny. There are perhaps 3 scenes in the film that are worth seeing and the rest was just dumb (in my opinion). I really couldnt wait for the film to end, which is not a good sign for a movie. Then again, weed humor and toilet humor are generally not funny to me any more, since its already been over done by recent comedies.
This movie is something you rent, not pay to see in a theater...but thats again just my opinion.

So, let me get this straight. You went and saw a movie where weed and fart jokes are in the trailer, but you know you don't enjoy those types of films? Seems like a no brainer to me. :poly142:
I myself enjoyed the movie, even though it played out like two hours of "family guy." If you enjoy that kind of humor, see it. If you don't, well, you're gonna have a bad time of it.

It is a general rule of thumb that you cannot judge a film by the entirety of its trailer. In this case though the gf dragged me to see it. I do enjoy family guy though, and was willing to give TED a chance because of it. Typically one goes to a movie to enjoy a good narrative, which in my opinion was absent from TED.

Quick review to get the gist of it pretty much, although I don't really agree with the guy on all points;

one of the better written comedies I've seen in a long time.
if you don't enjoy vulgar absurdity, then it's probably not the movie for you

Also, I thought the ending sucked.
I'll watch the movie again, though.
Adam, I think that Neilson8 dude is a bot.
You should probably go to Metacritic and give it a 0/10. That seems to be the trend these days
This looks cute / fun, but I think I'll wait for it to come out on Blu-ray.

To each their own.
