Maya Rendering, sub-division question.

Is there a way in Maya to have Sub-Ds not turned on in the maya viewport, but when you render the scene it will render in sub-d mode.

The reason I ask is because I have I very dense scene, over 1 million triangles lol. It is for school, but my computer at home is struggling to run the scene in sub-d mode.

It's easy, just select your object, go to it's shape attributes under the attribute editor, Smooth Mesh, and uncheck "Use Preview Level for Rendering"

You'll have toggle subdivisions first or that option will be greyed out
