Inspired by the Dubstep thread, I thought I'd start one based on one of my favourite genre's to share some artists and discover others that you might have heard.
Not entirely sure what the genre is called but I guess it's instrumental hip-hop style electronic.
some nice additions there hugh,
also forgot to mention to check out Gilles peterson on BBC radio6 (you can grab it streaming from the radio 6 site) if you havnt, guy play's pretty much every artist mentioned here and MORE!
What time is Gilles show on? I usually listen to R6M on DAB in the car and they always play great music. I just heard Daedelus a minute ago actually! That was on some dude called 'Tom Ravenscroft' though I think.
this is my favorite genre of music. Its based at Low End Theory in LA; I got obsessed with it and would go check it out every Wednesday at the airliner. Here are some of my favorites that have yet to be mentioned (all mainly LA cats. if youre in LA you can catch them at Low End Theory on the reg):
Jonwayne
RL Grime
Teebs
Co.fee
Salva
Baths
GroundisLava
Nocando
Gaslamp Killer
Elos
Daedelus
Ras G
Free the Robots
Strangeloop
EdiT
Hudson Mohawke
Rustie
Clark
D33j
Virtual Boy

Yeah all the BrainFeeder/Low End Theory artists are some of my faves. All the LA Series on All City with the half/half beat selections on are worth checking out too. http://www.allcityrecordlabel.com/releases
mmmm-mmm! This is a good thread! This has become my favourite 'genre' of music in the last few years. Some point last year or the year before I heard Tokimonsta for the first time and completely fell in love! I'm a big fan of /r/futurebeats and the monthly mixxes that get put out there.
And if you're listening to all of this then I assume you are familiar with a Tribe Called Quest, which should be required reading in the world of smooth beats!
(OFF TOPIC)
If you liked Lone, check out Broke One, who has this incredible, sick, neo-chicago house sound! Second favourite artist next too Tokimonsta!

Hey some of this stuff is pretty good. I liked those Lone tracks (it reminds me of the techno and rave stuff I used to love so much but lost track of..). Some others are a bit too glitchy and off-world for me though.
Your stuff is not bad TeeJay, though sometimes they tend to just "trundle along" a bit too much for my taste.

Also checked out Dibia$e's latest record. I really don't know how he gets his drums to knock so hard.
