Preloaded - Technical Artist wanted!

Technical Artist WANTED

Preloaded are looking for an experienced technical artist to join the team. The role is hybrid, combining hands-on game art asset production with an advisory role; setting up workflow and informing best practice across multiple projects.

This is not an entry-level position, and we are looking for candidates with between two to five years experience. A passion for casual games and emerging platforms is a must!

Salary dependent on experience.

Responsibilities
  • 3D Game art asset production
  • Defining and troubleshooting art production workflow on per project basis
  • Investigating new techniques and implementing them
  • Informing best practices including choosing packages and tools for use by the studio

Desired skills
  • Detailed knowledge of Maya and Unity IDE, and the use of scripting languages
  • Technical proficiency in lighting and rendering, texturing, and graphics-related programming languages such as shaders. Crucially the ability to customise them so they are as streamlined as possible for specific projects
  • Understanding of the limitations of mobile hardware
  • Experience of agile development methodologies
  • Strong documentation and presentation skills

Bonus skills (one or more of these please)
  • 2D pixel / vector animation
  • 3D animation in Maya / Unity
  • Game design experience (level design, concept development etc)
