So Spitfire beat me to the punch on the Sam Brown
SciFi hallway Concept, but I figured I should make a WIP thread regardless.
Started a bit ago, working on lighting, material definitions, and plan to change the lights up top along with adding in some extra detail. Feedback is always welcome and appreciated

Feels like you have a better mesh/model base than i did, keep at it!
@ Chrisradsby - Thanks for checking it out! I have been looking around for stuff that might make sense in the hallway, I have a few ideas but we shall see
Continued working on textures. Playing around with the lights on the roof. They are a bit bright right now, not sure the current lighting reflects that. More soon.
maybe in the final pass to a cooler lighting would really help to make for an uncomfortable situation
@Macattack - I see what you are saying about it not being as claustrophobic and I see what you mean about the paint too. I think the lighting in concept is really artificial (really florescent, which i think adds to the overall feel of the concept) and I kinda wanted to move away from that. I will see what I can do, thanks for the crits!
I messed with the shot in photoshop a bit, overlaying some cooler colors and lowered the FOV when taking the shot. I think it helps the stretch a little bit, but not all that much. Let me know if I am missing the boat here...
A wires shot (final presentation will need to look cleaner and definitely needs some optimization, also deleted out the volumetric light meshes because they just got in the way:)):
And a shot with the different pieces I am using:
Thanks for taking a look!
I see the light coming into the scene but I barely can see what looks to be a window. Either duplicate the window across from the other one or show us a little more tease to where that light source is coming from. Other then that this is looking good keep it up!
Doesn't have to be like that but you get the idea.
PS. Awesome project! Love (good) modularity!
This is great though in all seriousness. I really love the modularity and texture work.
Danpaz is right though, crank up the contrast a bit and give that scene some drama.
Danpaz3d - dude, thank you! I really like that and think I will push more towards that.
toxic_h2o, ZacD: I turned down the opacity on the rays.
FractaL: haha I know , I was looking for something to practice modularity and the concept had some cool shapes that caught my eye. Definitely going to do some organic stuff once I wrap this up.
Ryan: I will see what I can do about the walls.
Here is the latest update. Still working on the lighting and trying different stuff. More updates soon.
Final Images:
Will throw some breakdown shots up on the folio sometime this weekend.
