Old Sailor Bust

Here is a bust of an old sailor. It just started out with me having some fun during the live hangout CrunchCast, and turned into a little project that I really enjoyed making. Hope you guys like looking at it as much as I liked sculpting it. And as always C&C is always welcome.

was the smoke done in ps, or alpha cards? just wondering about the sharp edge by his ear.

I can't criticize stylization, but if you were going for realism, he looks too much like he was chiseled out of pumice.

This is awesome, it is VERY believable and you definitely pulled off the old weathered look. Like Aivanov said, and another thing I would point out (this is just getting nit picky since this is just awesome) is that the crease where the lips meet the face is a little harsh and could use just a tad bit of smoothing, but other than that... Great work mah man.

ScudzAlmighty, the smoke was done is PS, it was just easier and I didn't want to spend a ton of time on smoke

Aivnov, Add3r, thanks for the response. Looking back on it they wrinkles do seem a bit hard in some areas, I may need to do a little smoothing to them.

Aga22, I agree, I was testing out the noisemaker plugin for the first time so I still have some tweaking to do with it.

I agree the the wrinkles are a bit much initially. I think he would look awesome with stubble. He seems almost too well taken care of at the moment. Other than that, it's a fantastic sculpt with lots of character

I am actually trying to add stubble now, you know the kind where is is sparse and old man scraggly. I am just having a hard time getting it just right.
