How do you guys actually get your freebies and giveaways?
When games are new (and sometimes not new) they have packs of 4 that you can buy that comes out cheaper than buying 4 individual copies. I usually buy those with the assumption that 3 friends would want it for that price, and they pay me back. Sometimes I can't find someone, or one of my friends decides against it, so I have an extra copy left. Can always trade it in the future. That's what happened with Torchlight2, I bought 4 and still have 1.
BUT! There are times when you already have a game, if you pre order you get a free copy of something that you might have. Pre ordering Max Payne 3 gave me a free copy of LA Noire. Pre ordering Torchlight 2 gave me a free copy of TL1... and so on. You sometime find discounts by having the game... if you pre order some of the time they'll give you a free game.

I have all the underlined games already, darksiders 3 times now but no idea how to separate the three licenses from each other. It's pretty disappointing that it isn't automatically done for you i suppose it makes steam money though.
Most bundles tell you that you won't be given doubles, certainly the Humble Bundle does, It's also not that disappointing or strange that Valve would not give you copies for you to give away considering they didn't get a cut of the sale. Even though ofcourse this still benefits them through possibly getting people to sign up for Steam, The fact they allow this at all is really quite special.
