oh... oh my! this is excellent!! color and material definition is fantastic. love the progress GIF. this gives me hope that i dont need a tablet for hand painted stuff. mouse ftw!!!
coots7: Thanks! Yeah mouse is a fun thing to work with
raul: Thank you!
jramauri: thanks!
Iciban: video it is then
aajohnny: hehe I'm glad you like it
never made a video tutorial before, but I think I'll make a short one for this.. probably explaining general stuff on how I work, and how I made the straps
Wow thanks for the vid! great technique! if its not much to ask, could you do a quick tutorial on the blade? Thats what i'm really interested in seeing on how you approach it
Iciban: sure I'll try and make one about that too.. but I should move on to the next weapon, you max find something that interest you on that, and I'll make a video about it
Jessica Dinh: haha thanks
JO420: thanks
Jeff Parrott: Thanks! Yeah I guess the best solution would be to use both
Rednaz: well I tried tablet, but I'm not really good with it.. what I would use a tablet for only is stroking edges.. thats really slow with a mouse.. an option in photoshop like lazymouse from zbrush could entirely get rid of the whole tablet thing I think! I'm just confident and relatively fast using this approach
As everyone else stated, colors look fantastic! My only critique is with the leaves at the bottom. To me they read as stone almost. I think they should be brighter, with less contrast and possibly a bit more attention to highlights. Other than that awesome job!
Turned out awesome and thanks for posting up the process, was interesting to watch. I haven't used bevel layer style in ages but actually seems like a pretty efficient choice.
