One of the many entries for the ArenaNet art test. Im gonna be working on the Male Norn. Hopefully this turns out well. Good luck to everyone trying out for this
I've seen some of your other work, for instance the character creature you did last year which came out great. But I gotta say you could really benefit from doing some deep anatomy studies of the human body. Your characters anatomy is so wonky feeling that it seriously distracts from any of the nice things you have going on. I'll try to break it down more specifically but basically here are some of the largest issues I see.
*your arms are way too long, stand up and drop your arms down by your side, notice where your finger tips stop, then look at where the arms would be if you did that same thing on your character.
*your legs are too thin for such a muscular character. They also feel rather short.
*The character overall height also feels too short, He feels about 5 1/2 to 6 heads tall when he should be closer to 7 - 7 1/2 (hero proportions).
*Something is way off with your head and face anatomy, the head is much too slanted on the forehead, to a point that it would be drastic even for a neanderthall. Also the eyes are very distracting, they feel more like they are painted on rather than held in place by musculature.

Idk i think it looks jawsome!
The arms are looking pretty long, the thighs look short, but then its hard to gauge without seeing the entire model.

I hope that helps.
