I folks,

I'm actually working on a wall shader for a personal project,
with vertex painting , and when I want paint, I can't. poly126.gif
But I really don't know why.
In fact the brush appear only on some parts of the meshes like corners or more little wood beams. (See red circle on the wire of the example.)
Now how can I paint on the wall if the other parts attract the brush ??? poly118.gif

I hope that someone will be maybe able to help me.

Good evening.

PS : The screen is from max, but the problem is in UDK.

Well... it IS vertex paint. It stores a colour value at each vertex of the model. It doesn't go any deeper than that. I'm not sure what you're expecting to happen...?

    Hi,
I'm not sure that you really understand my problem, or is that my explanation is not good ?
    To summarize, in UDK :
    - I've made a shader with two textures, Lerp, Vertex Color and Mask to multiply to vertex color.
    - When I try to paint on a house mesh (just walls), the brush appear on some places and not to others. But why ?:(
And when I just import the walls (it's just a divided box) it works well.

On this screen, you see the brush on 1 and when I drag my mouse on point 2 the brush disappears and I can't paint.

Thanks for your help, and sorry if my English is not perfect.:\

Problem solved, but I don't understand what changed I made on the mesh.
just cleaning and smoothing groups in auto in 3dsmax.
It's weird, but it's works fine now. :)
