I recently installed Max 2013 and have been experiencing viewport lag issues when orbiting using the middle mouse button+ALT. However, the strange thing is using CTRL+R or the Orbit button works fine. I've googled this and have found out that it's a known issue and have been trying all the fixes from driver updates (of which I have the latest ATI drivers), to disabling 2 cores on my processor, to trying different usb mice and still the problem persists. I even installed Max 2012 just to see if it's isolated to 2013 and the same problem pops up.
I'm used to shuffling about my projects quickly so this 1-second lag is gnawing on my nerves.
Any ideas guys? There was a
NewsFlash from AutoDesk but that was only concerning Nvidia cards.
I'm running AMD FX 6100 6-core, Windows 7 64bit, ATI Radeon HD 7450, 10GB RAM. And the computer is straight out of the box. I've only installed decrapifying software, AVG and ZoneAlarm.

And yes, Autodesk also gimped their packages pending on what graphic card you have, not sure if it's a push to get people to invest in a Quadro, but overall, it's a mess, with 2011 being the lowest offender.
The solution: get a new mouse.
I was using a MS mouse in beginning and tried an old Dell mouse I had lying around, and voila! No more lag, hope this fix works for the rest of you guys.
