Hey Guys,
I'm visiting Austin for two days next week - wed the 13th and thurs the 14th.
Austin is a game dev city, so I'm sure many of you know your way around there
Can anyone recommend interesting things to do there? Especially art and/or game industry related stuff. Also, a good lead on some legit Texas barbecue would be awesome.
Thanks!

If you're into hiking Mt. Bonnell and the Hill of Life trail are really beautiful to walk around and swim.
Both the inside and outside of the capital have a ton of sculptures and paintings and its free to walk around and check them out. There is also the Austin museum of art, but I'm not sure whats currently being exhibited there.
I miss Austin
-1 to Rudy's because you got Salt Lick right around the corner if you want really good food.
People say good stuff about Smokey Mo's but the time I went the brisket was so dry it got stuck in my esophagus and I ended up puking it all up in the bathroom :P
I'll probably check out the capitol building or museum. I also looked at do512.com, thanks for mentioning
And beer night, that's awesome! thanks Zac. I've heard of it and would love to check it out. It's the one put together by Jon Jones, right? Don't know him personally but I've been listening to crunchast and reading his articles - awesome dude, very helpful info. Anyway, I'll try and see if I'm there on the right Thursday.
Thanks a lot for your help guys
Sneak in and see what they're working on for me? pls? no? ok
Retro is a sort of boring non-descript office, I've never seen anyone go in or out of it. The only interesting thing are the bushes with a perfect square cut into them to show the hidden handicap sign.
Well they are working with Nintendo The employees are probably Indoctrinated and have been physically modified enough to never leave the building for daily life necessities.
you know you want too
but if maybe anyone wants to grab a drink / barbeque and hang out anyway, drop me a line
and thanks again for the suggestions
There were some cool roads to drive there too, but I was on a guided tour via a friend's vette so I'd have to default to a local for any directions.
Cool, if you're still up for that beer, I'll shoot over a private message. If anyone else wants to join, just message me
