I had not even heard of this movie until today. I can't believe Disney got the rights to use so many established characters in their movie. Looks pretty amusing.
If I'm not mistaken this is the same team that made "Meet the Robinsons," 'Bolt," and possibly 'Tangled." I would not be surprised if they threw in some references to their other movies.

I'm very very very very upset that Zangief is portrayed as a badguy... Just because he's russian and large he's a villain?
You're reading to much into this from a geek/nerd/gamer view, they're making fun of the fact that in almost all games, Russians are considered 'evil' and shoehorned because they can be.
Think how many times you played a WW2 game, and somehow, Russians are put in Hitlers bunkers and are your enemy instead of being your ally? Last I read a book about WW2, that was rarely the case, and most defectors really didn't even exist on a global level.
So yeah, I can see the humor on this, although not sure if the average goer will get the gist of it.
I do find it mildly amusing that someone is upset a video game character is portrayed as a villain in a movie.... Like what? Really?
I'm not hung up!
I just really like Zangief, and all his endings he's a hero. Every SF I've ever played he hates Bison and has a happy russian hero ending. Why no love for Zangief. He's so lovable and friendly
Oh. Yeah I see now it was referring to Street Fighter II V, which apparently is the spin-off anime.
But anyway. Maybe they just wanted a bigger part for him, and could only fit him in this way? I doubt Disney writers are so brainwashed on Fox and generally stupid to make Zangief a baddie by default.
Again though, silly thing to even be discussing IMO. Look at this movie. Who would have EVER thought something like this would happen? And it looks GREAT! And funny! Even Kano from Mortal Kombat is in it! Disney gave the writers a blank check-book and they went wild and it looks so much better for it. And still the interwebs finds something to complain about...
I wonder if Billy Mitchell and Stevie Wiebe will be in it. Billy Mitchell should be the films big baddie IMO.
Is it possible that this Capcom Namco Sega mashup game we've been hearing about has something to do with this? Maybe a tie-in game? Or is that already announced as being something different.

That CapcomxNamcoxSega mashup game was announced quite a while ago and has nothing to do with this movie.
What the hell is that blue elf woman in the Bad-Anon meeting from? It's not just a Night Elf, there was a game that had that exact character with the red dress.

I laughed my ass off when I saw this. This really looks like a film written for gamers. Very impressed with Disney right now.
Not really. It just made me feel uncomfortable that he was a hero for his country, but that Disney sees him as a russian antagonist
EDIT:Googled, according to the wiki he is.
Seems like a strange thing to get hung up on though.
this movie looks fun, i would watch it!

No. He has never ever been a badguy in the videogames. Just the movie, and a spinoff anime series.

Forgot the name of it, but it uses 2d sprites.
That game I think is called Project X Zone
The yellow robot is also annoyingly familiar.
