Cargo Freighter Spaceship

Inspiration for this environment struck after buying a couple of Halo art books and getting hooked on EVE Online </shame>

I aim to create a huge transport/industrial/cargo ship in deep space with a detailed exterior as well as some interior bits, such as the cargo bay. One of the Halo art books said that it introduced the idea of a map that transitioned seamlessly between the outside world and the interior of a spacecraft, and this idea stuck with me.

Spent a lot of time looking at Amarr and Caldari EVE ships to get a basic shape down, and I have some images of the high-poly ships from the original Dark Sector trailer to give me ideas for the texture work.

Also, I'll try to improve the background at some point, but that's a lower priority.

When posting blockouts I'd suggest using a grey or another solid background so the silhouette and shapes don't get lost in it. It looks ok so far but I'm sure you have much more to go, so keep going!

I thought I had upped the exposure bias in photoshop after taking this enough.. perhaps not. I need to sort out my gamma.
Quick update to address glaring things I noticed just now: jwDLqbbgghmbm.jpg

Upped the polies in the gas planet and added a ring, then added exhaust cones to the thrusters/engines.
Any tips on how to really get a sense of scale - to communicate the idea that this ship is huge - will be greatly appreciated. Time to make some modular high-poly sheets :)
