I'm graduating next semester so I have decided that this summer and the final semester will be dedicated purely to portfolio building. I intend to apply as an environment artist, yet my portfolio is utterly void of environments so I had better work on that...
My first portfolio project will be based on this panting my friend
Johan Friis did a while ago. I'm very fond of the mystery and visual strangeness of it.
I'm doing choco's approach to terrain creating, by making a base sculpt in Mudbox, eroding it in WorldMachine and then taking the resulting heightmap into UDK.
But I will be heading back to Norway for a about month tomorrow, and I'll be separated from my computer. That means I will be stuck with my 4 year old Macbook Pro so there will be less UDK work and more asset creation in the following updates.
