This is awesome I'm really glad to see companies stepping up to help one another, i had heard about this the other day but reading the post is awesome great job EPIC
"and keep together some of the key talent displaced by the layoff"
Lets hope this means more than just the management and a skeleton staff! ;p
This is a great move by Epic, but what I'm hearing is that it's a very small team to start as they figure it out, at which point they might reach out to some additional members of the team.
Guys I don't think this has anything to do with the guys leaving Epic. The sky is not falling. Many of those guys leaving want a change. They have been there forever, are super successful and can take a risk by doing something new and different. No one wants to do the same thing over and over their entire lives.
As for this closure, the way I see it and how it appears is Epic saved them because they thought they could be helpful and bring something to the family like Chair did but after working with them it seems that hey maybe these guys just weren't the right fit. It's like hopping into a relationship too quickly to find out that the girl is batshit insane...
I think Epic had to do what they had to do. Nothing more. 3 Months of severence is pretty sweet though. I've never gotten that...

Absolute Bummer.
Horrible news. What the hell is going on at Epic? All the big name guys are leaving and now this?
