Maya help

Hey everyone if anyone could help me out real quick i would appreciate it.
When im modeling in maya and i press the space bar it will switch to the four panels but every now and then reandomly it will close maya off the screen and switch to for example my internet screen that I have open. It dosent shut down maya completly it just kicks it off the screen.
Any help would really be appreciated
