So I had no time to play Gears 3 for a while, and when I finally had time, I found my Fiancee's daughter's boyfriend stole it. And Darksiders, and Deus Ex: HR, and Dead Space 2, and L4D 2... So I haven't got to the end of Gears 3 yet. I freaking HATE loser boyfriends who steal my shit!!! >:(
This looks like it could be cool though. They were hinting at the whole Marcus was in jail thing for the other 2 games I got to play. I'd love more details on the situation (In game only, thanks)
the only involvement i know so far of PCF in gears of war was: 1) porting the first to pc (a fairly bad port, tbh); 2) some multiplayer maps for gow3; and 3) dlc's. so whats the chance they might be working on a full gow game? o.o
Am i the only person that thinks that GoW should end ? Can't they just create something new ? 3 parts of a game which doesn't really changed much is enough...

As someone who has recently played through Gears 2 after having already completed Gears 3 - you're talking through your arse :P
You may not have noticed it at the time, but Gears 3 feels and plays almost entirely differently to two.
Sure the main mechanics are there, but everything has been tweaked, overhauled or just plain built up from scratch in the third game.
(Not to mention the jump in graphics, as Gears 2 looks a bit gash in comparison.)
@Ambershee - I'd say Halo: Reach is the best Halo game though, so who's to say the People Can Fly and Epic blokes can't pull it off?
Sorry to be a rabid fanboy, guys.
I'm just riding the hype wave.
Don't worry, I'll be back to normal in a few hours/days/weeks.
Yeah, with Gears 3 a lot of people around here were saying, "We finally shipped the Gears game that we always wanted to". It took 3 titles to get there but Gears 3 is such a polished and refined Gears experience ... it's just heads and shoulders above the first two. IMO.

ODST is the fourth game in the franchise; most people would argue that to be the worst. Canonical series wise, Halo 4 is yet to be seen.
It's just a trend however, it doesn't hold true for all series. Most of the longest running series that are still successful now have a successful fourth title.

Sorry mate but thats just low standards. Since you are fanboy though I won't be convincing you. I won't be convincing anyone. Played those games and found them really empty and repetitive. Sorry that I don't find pleasure in crouch running some wider than higher dude. We live in this constant franchise milking world. Demand something more. Game industry really should move forward. Won't be developing this topic here though

Tell him it's okay if he borrows a game, but only one at a time?
Unfortunately, he took them straight to game stop, and sold them. And now he's in another state, so it's just another case of life giving me something I have to eat, cause there's nothing I can do about it now. I still REALLY wanna finish Gears 3 though. And I never had a chance to finish Dead Space 2, and didn't even start Deus EX... Hmmm, fury rising, need to think of something else...
Is it done by Epic? I heard a rumor People Can Fly was working on the new Gears.
I'm really hoping that's not true. People Can fly Should be playing to what makes them a great studio - the unashamedly ridiculous, fast paced and dynamic throwbacks to old school shoot-em-ups. Leave Epic with the dreary Gears of War franchise.

I know what you're saying - just trying to spark debate.
Developers can tend to run out of steam when it gets to a fourth title in a comparatively similar series of games (or even films). Most of the story and innovations will have been developed by the third title, leaving very little to creatively add to the experience (Assassin's Creed: Revelations, for instance).
Perhaps Epic may have seen the danger of having the same team work on yet another Gears game. Maybe the guys just wanted to be doing something new.
Either way, having a fresh studio with the franchise gives me confidence.

Gotta love Epic's style.

Should be good fun, hope they expand more on beast mode, I loved tearing up some COGs

My bad. I think I read somewhere years ago there was an exclusivity deal. Might be confusing it with that.
It's for XBox 360, I'll be watching this and I don't even have a 360

Also, fourth games in the series tend to be the weakest - it's true!
I'm pretty sure they probably are.

With regards to the topic above, I can completely see why people don't get along with Gears - I just don't happen to be one of them
