Paypal perhaps? I'm feeling bad for getting it for free
Glad this tool is so well received.
Cant wait to see what people do with it, feel free to share your creations in the discussion.
Thank you all for the generous donations.
If you use paypal you can donate to my email: alexander.delagrange@gmail.com
Very much obliged
But things that I notice right off the bat (read: nah, I'm just picky I know ha!) is the script messes up the object name. One solution that I can think off is by not do the bend operation on the original object but instead on the copy of it. Currently it's instance original object A become A_002 > hide A_002 for a revert function > instance A become A_003 become the non-bend instance > instance A become A_004 and bend it together with A, so A and A_004 forming the bended object. I can't see where is the A_001 went missing though.
It'll be nice if we can have the original A for the revert function (and hide it like it did now), instance it and add a suffix _unbend, then after that only instance it again for the bend object component and add a suffix _bend_001, _bend_002, etc.
and so it does work. awesome, thanks for the info and script
Please can you make a bend along a given path?
But indeed, you are 100% right, this will be fixed in a future release,
thank you for the input.
Waydor: this would turn my BOB into the already much used loft modifier.
I would be adding something to max that already exists.
But either way thank you for the input
Cheers
enables you to drop the revert button and get realtime updates
dont know if its worth it though since it ll introduce a lot of codework
I saw this showcased on Reddit over a month ago and spent a week looking for it, glad I was browsing polycount today.
Donated and enjoying the tool
My only question is: does it preserve UV layout in the created geometry?
I'm going to download this and send you a paypal note regardless of the answer. This is going to make work on this reactor room 5x faster and my modular approach far more efficient. Thanks man.
You guys are the best!
Feel free to share your awesome creations and be featured in the top post.
Hannes d: thank you for the info, I wasn't aware that this was possible.
This adds the advantage of not losing your undo history when using the script as well.
Will definitely implement this.
thank you
Axi5: on reddit of all places o_O.
Thats crazy, could you perhaps PM me the link
Cheers!
s1dK: Did you make sure you dragged the script in a new custom toolbar like its explained in the readme? If the script is dragged into the standard max Ui max forgets about the script for some reason.
I haven't tried the installation with 2012 out though. I just know it works when running it.
Cheers
Thaiauxn: Thanks mate really appreciate the gesture!
And yes every object is instanced and will keep your UV's.
If you change one object its UV's than this change will be applied on all your other models unless you make it unique again.
Cheers!
Would be nice if it welded the edges together. A toggle to weld edges.
apparently the 2012 version removes the script from your local folder giving it the error when launched.
Go to C: \Users\"your user name"\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2012 - 64bit\enu\UI\usermacros
and drop the BendOfBrothers.mse and OUL.bmp from the rar in that folder.
Seems to be working fine for me when i close and reopen max.
If you got any other issues let me know
Shinigami: Hope this solves your problem 2
airbrush: I roughly scripted this in originally but ended up tossing it away as it doesnt keep your instances when they all become 1 editable poly.
Not sure about adding it back in the future as the old version would weld certain unwanted edges. But yeah perhaps it is not impossible.
I'l add it to the to do list.
snake85027: do you mean making them attached 1 editable poly?
Not sure what you mean.
Cheers everyone
Great!
Cheers

Not that I mind paying for good tools but it won't allow you to specify a $0 price.
Press "I want this!" button.
"Name a fair price:" Fill in 0 and press Get
Today 15 people bought it for $0, I doubt that you cant...
This is an old wip gif (It does so much more now):
After I have finished this one I will revisit the BOB script and release V2.0!
Happy to see people are still interested
