Sooo... Still not enough time to work on my projects but I just can't stop myself to enter this contest, maybe I'll find a way to work on it...I just have to stop sleeping, but, who needs that right?
Jokes aside, I thought about a skin for Darius, my favourite champion(since my name is Dario XD), I like the freliord and iceborn concepts from Lol and i have some ideas from other games that could help me with the final model, let's see how it goes ^u^

I love all the stories from whom the characters of Lol are born so I thought about a little story for my Darius. "After being the last man standing in the fight to conquer the Freljord Darius met Lissandra. The Iceborn, furious about the intrusion of the Hand of Noxus in her plans of control the tundra from the shadows, decided to use an ancient magic to seal the soul of Darius and reanimate his body as one of her minions to mock him. Darius couldn't do anything, after the long battle, to block such a magic and in an istant he was frozen while trying to strike his opponent... After the ritual the Iceborn was sure to be the winner of the battle but from the depth of Darius' dead eyes a light started to shine, fast as a guillotine the giant frozen axe dropped on the Witch who had already lowered her guard. The thin body of Lissandra was shattered like ice but no expression appeared on Darius' face...."
I hope the drawing is at least readable for you. And yeah it's highly inspired by the sons of svanir from gw2 since i love that game too XD

Interesting idea though and I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
I started to block out the body proportions, I will fix the anatomy later. I left the legs like that since they will be covered in ice so there's no need to model them.

The icy shapes are a bit noisy as well, basically just spikes everywhere. It's rather impractical (although it's obviously not a big concern in this theme it seems) but also could be pushed a lot further and made more interesting. I think it would help if the shapes followed the flow of what's underneath but in a distorted fashion, more like a crude sculpture perhaps, and then coming out like spikes in the extremes, like shoulder, elbow and fingers. This you already have going on in some places, like the hands, shoulders and face, but the in-between forms could be toned down.
Have you considered perhaps making him entirely out of ice? Don't know if that would work well with the given universe but maybe it would solve some potential design problems.

As I was telling to AlmBlZ I'm thinking about changing the theme of my Darius with something more interesting and fun for me and less GuildWard-ish. I started with that idea just to force myself to join the contest, but now I'm elaborating in my head some ideas that I will post soon while I continue working on the base mesh. Hope it does not to disappoint you
A,B and C are ideas for a Pool party/summer time Darius(feels so good thinking about warm weather these days XD)
D angry player Darius, that I like but I think it doesn't work well with the basic rules of the game(even if imagining Darius smashing the keyboard on the head of the other champions it's cool)

What kind of weapon do you prefer for the pool party/summer time skin? I was thinking about the paddle, making him a canoe instructor XD
Don't know how the character acts in the game but I suppose the new weapon would have to wield in a similar fashion to an axe. Maybe you just need to take one of these and exaggerate them further, making it more striking. In the original's case the weapon and shoulder pads are really huge. That cape does a lot as well. Cape-like things are always cool.
For the record I like the gamer idea the least. At least for my taste I'd rather go for something more integrated with the theme of the game (only assuming since I haven't played it).
While I'm taking my time to decide what skin to do, I'm working on the stylized anatomy, here's an update
I personally like the snow shovel one since it's so ridiculous or the whale one. Hitting people with a shovel or a whale is appealing.
Here's an update! I decided to go for the pool party skin (first? maybe I'll make the other skins if I find more time)
The whale will have 3 handles 2 in the middle and 1 on the tail so Darius can perform the "hook attack" , the mouth of the killer whale will animate to bite the enemy and pull him closer.

I was thinking to add a beach towel on his left shoulder to make it more interesting, I was going for the looser trunks but I thought the speedo was more into the character. Also from the top view the looser trunks will just cover some of the legs and not add too much to the silhouette
Edit: Just checked all the other pool party skins and the Graves' one uses a small towel as a cape...not sure if I want to repeat that effect with a bigger one, I'll just try that and a block out of the loose trunks and see
Nice stylization of the anatomy, it would read really well in-game. Make sure your tattoo details are not too busy from afar!
