Problems in render in 3ds max

I am modeling a robot for the first time I haven't done much modeling in max really so I need to practice so I am making a robot from a concept image. I was wondering how to fix this rendering issue it only seems to happen to the cylindrical obj but not the other one. Do i have to flip normals or something if so where and what mode do I have to be in?
