Looking for people opinions on one or the other, what do you use? (if any) would you use the other? Would you be interested in a polycount ventrilo or teamspeak? How big of a room size do you think would be adequate? 15? 25? 50?
Im looking into setting up and maintaining a vent or teamspeak server for polycount and was wondering what others thought.

mumble is becoming the new standard within the esports community. very very decent opensource dealie. http://mumble.sourceforge.net/
Maybe you could take donations for the monthly?
Would love to log on and get some games of killing floor going w/ the polycount guys
ventrilo gets my vote, but Ive never heard of mumble
Mumble isn't too shabby either
No it isnt lol. Ventrilo is still the defacto standard as it has been for the past decade, mumble is kinda being used by more people but it still sucks compared to Ventrilo and nobody at all uses TS3.

Key features I'd say are 3D sound, Tabbed Voice-Comming (Multi-server/Multi-channel voice), Avatars, channel texting and private texting (Doubles as a text chatroom), and File Sharing.
Quite a bit of people do use TS3.
well yeah because competitive gamers are idiots and will never change their ways, but at least it's getting some use. i've joined a good few pugs (you euros call them mixes or some shit) recently where i've had to use mumble, but still the overwhelming majority use vent.
he's probably safer going with ventrilo since it's used so heavily, everyone has the client already.
