"Joystiq has learned from several well-placed sources that a second round -- a much more serious round -- of layoffs has struck Mythic Entertainment. These cuts go further and deeper than the last round, which saw several members of the support staff let go. Current estimates indicate that between 60 and 130 people have been let go. These layoffs most certainly affect the development staff, and we've been told extend even to the ranks of senior designers. These rumored layoffs come less than a week after the announcement of a full-scale live event expansion for Warhammer Online."

Times are bad and going to get a little worse before it gets better. But I don't think anyone here is unhirable. We're all pretty damn talented.
My contract ends in about 3 months, so I'll be in the same boat with the rest of you. I can't imagine what's going to happen if I can't get another job. With the bills I have, I haven't been able to save any money. So I'll have to withdrawl from what's left of my 401k.
Hopefully everyone affected will find something else.

That is, if there's anything left in your 401k after Wall Street is done having its way with your money.
I'm worried since I'd most definitely need to relocate if I had a strong enough portfolio... but montreal isthe only option for mobile, and if I spend 4 or 5 months putting together a 3d port, nobody is hiring, and if they are, there's a ton more experienced people out there over me.
but for the time being, I'm still employed.. knocking on wood.
