Alright I'm in! Decided I'll make Soraka. I'll start with the classic skin and if I'm happy with it I'll see about making alternates

. My goal here is to get closer to what she looks like in the splash art.

I'm trying a proportion adjustment. The new version is on the left. I figured the legs should be longer considering the anatomy of a fawn. What do you think?

I like the original, because her hands are mid thigh, the elongated ones make her feel unbalanced. Maybe an inbetween?

Her legs are quiet long on the original model, giving her some graceful moves. You're probably closer with the 2nd version.
Very nice sculpt anyway.

I think the blend from the fur on her legs to the skin could use some more love though

This is looking very nice! I agree with Noors, I think the 2nd version fits better. You could elongate the arms very slightly too, I think.

Yeah the proportions needed a bit of a tweak. Thanks @liemnguyenart, @Noors and @Lunie . After playing around with it I felt lengthening the arms was the right choice.

You make a good point @lotet . I made some adjustments. Still want to tweak the fur more but gettin there

I also reworked the hair a little. I feel I might needed to simplify it a bit. What I have may be a bit too busy to read well from afar.

I've moved on to the low poly and baked it all to texture. Right now the bake is a too strong I feel but I'll make adjustments as I texture.

yeah, your curvature is looking a bit overexposed. have you baked any object space normals?

@lotet you know I didn't think of the object space normals but now I do! Also toned things down.

@Art1ficer You are completely right and that is the plan. Just haven't gotten there yet haha

@yararstss hm that's odd. Glad you checked in though! You will definitely see what I got soon haha.

Here's a texture update. Still a lot to do but a rough start anyway. Wasn't sure to go purple or blue but since I'm referencing the splash art I went with purple. It might be they intended the purple to be due to lighting but who can say haha.

Bake an object spaced (or bent normals as its sometimes called) map. then take the green channel and overlay or multiply it on top of your diffuse, it gives a really good base to start the hand painting process from.

Nice colors! I personally prefer purple too, its getting good. Man, you are fast, do you intend to make some other character?

@yararstss I'm not actually that fast haha. I just used an existing skin so I didn't have to sped too much time concepting. I also had a good bit of free time the last couple weeks
