Hi all! 

About two years ago I had the opportunity to work on my dream project. 
It feels like an eternity has passed since then but I'm finally able to share some of the work I did for the intro to the blizzard BRAWL trailer (the pre-rendered portion).  

As a huge blizzard fan I felt extremely honored to work on some of my favorite characters of all time. Everything was a huge team effort and I only contributed a small part!

I was fortunate enough to get to model Illidan, Tyrael, and about 90% of Arthas. Then moved onto texturing for Illidan(as well as first pass look dev) and at the very end I was asked to do some shot based projection paint fixes for Nova's face, Illidan's hair and Illidan's green flames.  (I didn't do any weapons though.)

I know this is going to sound cheesy but I'm going for it anyway.... I grew up playing Blizzard games and drawing a ton of warcraft and starcraft fan art as a kid. The moment I decided I wanted to become a 3D artist was while watching the behind the scenes video for vanilla WoW. So to be able to be a part of creating some of the characters that inspired my career choice was very surreal for me. It really showed me that a ton of hard work will eventually pay off if you don't let go of your dream. I hope that my story is a little bit of an inspiration for anyone just starting out. If you have a dream, don't give up on it!    



 We were asked to match the game models as closely as possible so I've included reference we were given of the game models in each render for a side by side comparison.

Illidan: Modeled all hard and soft surfaces. I don't know who did the zbrush sculpt of Illidan's demon form (ingame) at blizz but I just want to give them a shout out as I received it for reference and it was extremely helpful! :) in fact the hair planes are literally from the game model as they were to be handled by another department but we needed a shape there for previz purposes.
