I've uploaded some free environments for marmoset toolbag 2. I already shared some of these but now they're in the .tbsky format so you can easily load them into marmoset.
Thanks a ton! I had some issues with the bottom two download links though. Using firefox. Instead of getting a nice download link, I got a page of garbage.
Pretty cool! I have a question though, is there anything special about the toolbox sky files that seperate them from regular HDRIs?
I think marmoset does some stuff with the HDR file. The tbsky files seem to load faster. And if you place them in your installation folder they'll be among your presets.
Just click on "open..." inside of marmoset. You can also put them in this folder to add them to your presets: "C:\Program Files\Marmoset Toolbag 2\data\sky"
Yup, I use PTgui for stitching. I have a samyang 8mm fisheye and I use the nodal ninja 3 mkII pano head. And I use a canon 550d in case you were wondering.
I've got 4 more environments that I'll release soon.
A question for someone with knowledge on the subject:
I have a few environments that I sell on various websites as sIBL sets. Would it be okay to release those for free as low res marmoset environments? Perhaps only for non- commercial use?
It is a source of revenue for me so every HDRi that I release for free is a loss of potential profit. And I'm unemployed atm.

Yeah the tbsky files are processed into cube maps, so they will load faster(when you load a standard hdr pano it has to process it first, so there is a slight delay especially with high res files). When you save a tbsky file into the preset folder, its also a lot easier to select and use in various scenes. When you don't save out a preset and select it from the preset list, the sky content is actually saved directly into your toolbag scene, which mean very large files depending on sky resolution.
It's not like I'm making loads of money from selling these ($35 in a few months) so it doesn't impact me that much. It just takes a few hours of work for each one. And I've spent quite a bit on money on the equipment.
I don't think the target audience for sIBL sets is people who use marmoset anyway, so it's not like I'd lose any profit. If it's legal to sell the high res files and share low res versions for marmoset for personal use, I wouldn't mind doing so.
I've just added another sky, there's some blurriness in the sky because the clouds were moving too fast.
As the rights holder, you have full say in what you do with the files. If you want to give them away on one site for non-commercial use and sell them on another you're perfectly able to do that. The only exception would be if the other site you sell on has some sort of exclusive rights section in their policy.
Just out of curiosity, what is the site you sell on?
crap. The dropbox links are down because of "excessive traffic". I'll reupload them somewhere else tomorrow. Does anyone know a better site? I guess I could host them on my own website.
I woud not call them marmoset environments however, theyre HDRIs and not for marmoset, all 3D modeling packages and literally everyone can use them for many applications, also it sounds like you are giving away 3d environments
I am supplying them in the marmoset file format though. If there's any interest I'll upload the original (low res) HDRs somewhere as well.
The links are still down but I'm uploading them on mediafire atm. It's just going to take a while because I'm having some major problems with my internet.
I'd be interested in the HDRs to be honest. UE4 also supports image based lighting, and it gives me the opportunity to make better use of the layered material pipeline it offers.
I would suggest mega as an option for sharing. Fast downloads and works very nicely.
Alright, I'll upload the HDRs as well. I'll try to do it tomorrow but I can't make any promises because I'm struggling to upload anything right now.
I'm uploading them to my web host atm, which seems to work well. But my internet keeps getting disconnected so it cancels the upload. Probably a broken modem/router but I can't call my ISP because I rent this place... Very stressful.
If anyone is interested in purchasing any of the high res HDRis(12-13k) for commercial use I'll post a link soon.

And are these made with an FishEye Lens?
Which Panoramahead are you using?

We all like free but that doesn't put food into your body, with that said thank you for what you have posted.
I am sure you'll decide what is best.
I wouldn't do anything that hampers your source of revenue. Maybe you can use one to entice people to buy the rest or something.

Thanks for releasing these by the way!

I've got about 20 more skies that I can share then, and more to come!

Yes that's an elevator.
