i've been working on a little fanart of my favorite game of all time -
spelunky
my preliminary sketches for proportions + basic ideas
aaand my latest WIPs, keeping everything flat lit, diffuse only

issues i'm aware of + currently fixing:
faceting texture on the hat
adding more subsurface scattering and pink to the ears + the skin in general
next up i'm going to be polishing textures, rigging, and making the pedestal/props (bat, torch, cube for him to stand on)
any feedback you guys have is greatly appreciated!

Only thing that stood out to me was his torso is rather flat. I get it's supposed to be that but the chest gives a bit of an impression of slanting inwards. Would do good to move those verts outwards a bit I think.
still planning on rendering out the hat a little better, changing some values (mostly making the pants a bit darker) and puffing up the torso next!
