Great thread man! Lot's of great 2D and 3D work you have here. I myself am going to start a 2D improvement thread myself soon. I really need to get my art skills up to a higher level.
@kend: Hah thanks dude! well i think that oen is about 8 hours. but it's what i'm most comfortable with. making like a humanoid with gear would take me days!
@ jack M.:
1) lay down basic colour let's say red.
2) take a darker red. en draw random lines in the direction you want your fur to flow. it's easy to follow muscle groups. when you have a whole bunch of lines it kinda starts looking like patches of fur but really dirty so clean up the patches with an eraser you don't have to be precise just go with it. you can regulate how long you want your fur to be it's good to stay random since fur is pretty much chaos don't overthink it
3) take a lighter color. light blue or light yellow (almost white). make a new layer put it to overlay and add light on the biggest volumes don't bother with the seperate patches of fur. play around with the opacity.
4) do the same thing with a darker colour ( i usually take dark purple). only this in the deeper parts to really punch up the bigger shapes.
5) painting! add highlights to the patches you created earlier and shadow where they intersect.
so a little something special today. Here's the very first skin I got to work on for League of Legends.
Had a blast working on something so far out of my comfort zone, learned a ton and made me realise I srsly need to step up my game.
Concept provided by Riot games
Riot made some tweaks to the final in-game asset.
@Draconius Amazing sculpts as always! is it your concept? i like these styles very much and where do you got these inspiration? haha
I think Shendoo meant realtime/in-game assets like your high v elf.

You are kicking ass at these styles man. Your young seedling dragon is fantastic. Your Diddy Kong piece was really nice too my only real critique is that the pose was kinda weak. Do you rig these guys or are the posed in Zbrush?
There's some of you that apparently are interested in how I do things. So I dun did a littlre write up about what I consider is the most important part of my workflow in zbrush.
hope it helps.
Peace,
Supreme Dingus. ALSO PS. I JUST NOTICED A BUTTLOAD OF TYPOS. but i'm a real lazy person, so feck it.
