I'm fairly new to the forum so if I should make any mistakes be sure to point them out.

What kind of technique did you use for the fur on that character?
first I crosshatch in the furr on a lower subdivision level using the claybuildup brush. When I'm happy with the direction of the fur i take the orbs crack and pull out the larger clumps of fur using the alt function. Then I go up a subdivision and refine it using the orbscrack adding some depth at the tips of the clumps. I also use the snakehook on select locations to pop a few strands out to mostly on the outer parts of the model giving the silhouette a little extra oomph.
