Hey guys! I just thought I would post what the
GameTextures.com artists have been up to for the past few months! I hope you enjoy them all. Our good friends, Geoffrey Rosin, John Valenti, Guillaume Provost, Damian Lazarski, Matt Dirks, and myself have contributed to this awesome-sauce batch of texture art.
For those of you who don't know, we're a group of artists who have contributed to titles such as Dishonored, and LEGO games. We were pretty damn sick of there being no place to grab textures quick, for prototyping or otherwise, so we made our own. GameTextures.com is the result, right now we're sitting at 800+ hand made, ready to use tiling textures.
I realize Polycount isn't our target audience, but, you're at least some people who can appreciate what we do.

If you guys sold tutorials i'd buy 50, just sayin'
i'm not a fan of these textures though:
design itself is fine but wear and dirt look very artificial, i mean hard round brush? really? i think i can even see separate dots caused by high spacing...
PLEASE start making tutorials, I'd definitely buy them.
That wall would perfectly fit MISERY 2... too bad we just cant use it
Looking forward to more textures! Inspiring stuff here
Great stuff guys.
Why not sell packs of matching textures as well at a lower price? It'd be way more easier for someone to, for example, download a "Medieval Texture Package (50 HD textures)" then downloading them single-handedly
Cheer!
Even if you didn't download them all, $14.99 is a complete bargain for this quality of work.
We're working on some sets though, we have been building them as sets for a while, we're working on developing that feature for the site.
Thanks for your kind words! We'll keep doing our best!
Lets not forget how easy/cheap it would be to outsource this entire project to India or China .
I'd rather pay lots more for great artists to continue to be able to thrive in a shakey industry. So I do!
This. or at least workflow tips, like how you approach rocks and wood, ect, as well as tutorials, because sometimes you don't need to go through an entire tutorial to learn.
On that note, you could also do something similar to 3D Motive and offer video streaming tutorials for a monthly fee, or charge a higher amount to purchase tuts separately. I've subscribed to 3D Motive a few times myself when they had a specific tutorial I really wanted on the site. Hmm or maybe even sell a PDF with some breakdowns/tips?
But yeah, 14.99 is an absolute steal for textures of this caliber! Awesome work you guys are doing over there, everything has a uniform feel to it.
In the mean time: some more textures! yay!
I added the UDK shader and UPK for the mud shader that is in the first post, and the blend material to make it go to puddle-mode!
Download here!
some more walls. This one probably needs some feedback. Any thoughts?
But that door, urgh. So bland and out of place for such an integral part of the texture.
It appears that its a sliding door, but those grey strips make it look like hinges which conflict with the whole design.
I've just downloaded your mud material shader to have a look at it and ive loaded it into udk with all the files, and it opens okay except for the master mud material is broken and i cant get it to work, any ideas?
Thanks!
ya i was able to make it work, there was a divide by zero happeing in the network somewhere that bugged it out.
AND MORE TEXTURES! yay! Contributing Artists: Matt Dirks, Tanner Kalstrom, Guillaume Provost, Julien Friedriech, Geoffrey Rosin and last but definitely not least, Mattias Van Camp!
