That's true. I quickly did it with curve extrude. Cleaned it up a little bit but kept most of the details for a nice smooth tube. Model is at 10k tri Also finished unwrapping uvs
wow. these look incredible. what are you rendering in? obvious question of the day: is its all just extruded shapes with color applied to each object and the lighting does all the color shading?
I'd take the latter approach. With that kind of shading extruding it would cause a lot more planes to appear on the ground. By having them separate, you can help keep it more simple.
could just be a tileable detail texture layer, or just a very very high rez diff/spec textures. atleast i dont see the hairs actually extruding from the skin
Box modeling. Roughly box model and extrude what you need. Think polygonal primitives. Cut and add more edges and faces as necessary. Focus on silhouette and good topology for deformation.
Better to not add the inside surface at all. Only extrude at the openings, after you bake, and only what you can see. Unseen vertices are a big waste, runtime memory is precious.
It's a good start but a lot of the weapon is missing excitement, for example, that middle of the rifle near the trigger, there is nothing going on and it looks more along the lines of an extruded block. I know it's not, but it looks like it.
Create a few straight bricks use the bend modifier? Create a few bricks arrange the verts by hand? Trace the bricks out with a closed spline, convert it to edit poly and bevel or extrude?
3d fonts! ive tried searching for that without luck. Extruded text in max wont make any man happy but nicely quaded, sub-div friendly 3d letters, would!
added accessories, now around 7500. Guess this will come down a bit after I sculpt and optimize. Hooray for extrude along a path. What do y'all think of the mask design?
