Really guys? A thread about fun innovative indie games that push the boundaries and we go and get caught up in literal definitions of what indie is that totally invalidates the entire purpose of this discussion. This place blows lately, peanut gallery is getting too big.
haha.. this is so fun.. whats all this about, last days two guys have started to post stuff and want to make money of it.. and all your talk about xbox vs 360? when are you planing for release? will you be at E3 next year?
In case you wanted to see some more. I had some fun the stuff, like loading them in to unity and trying to see how much of a little town I could rebuild off the pieces that make the wow building.. and marmoset is pretty awesome!
@WillPowell Thanks. I will try to make the candles and post an update soon @pistachio Yep, those are all on the to-do list. Ha ha. I'm just doing things a bit out of order because lighting was starting to get fun. Thanks for the feedback though.
Another piece added to the portfolio. It's based on a concept by Piper Thibodeau. Had a lot of fun doing this one. Had to figure out a decent way to make beer foam in Unreal. It was also nice to make something really cute. Original Material experiment Final piece
Ok guys here's my final update :) I had a lot of fun working on this project and most certainly learned a whole lot of things. Here is the link to a video I made about the project : https://youtu.be/0ZkcZjyXq0w and following is a whole load of pics
Thanks for the info @Swordslayer I messaged Martin. Helical Cyl looks like a lot of fun :) It seems like the bevel profile has been in Modo since 401! A very clever tool. I'm surprised it hasn't appeared in other 3D packages as standard.
I don't know if I've ever drawn houses before? But these were fun to work on. Traditional Swedish houses. I'm planning on stacking quite a few on top of each other to make a chaotic tower on the archipelago. I think it would make a neat concept!
All retopologised and baked! :D got it down to 13,033 tris which is still too many BUT it does include all the internals which was unnecessary but fun. here's base materials in substance painter iRay low poly showing off low poly internals
WiP: I finished the door's textures. I also added a new mesh under the support beams by the windows, it looked strange without something masking the seams. I will probably re-visit that mesh or its' textures to make it a bit more fun and appealing.
