i dont get your point. my point is 3d scanning is cheap. it is done for a reason because it is cheap to save cost. that is why it doest deserve same respect as hand crafted model.
with all due respect, if you feel discouraged or bothered by having to pay attention to detail, you're going to have to change your attitude entirely. Otherwhise, hardsurface will do your head in, comrade.
@RustySpannerz I mean, I'm inclined to agree as a Korean "Honorary Scotsman," but a man needs to respect the Queen's peace to some degree. Btw email me so we can coordinate for a pint.
update: unwrap is getting there, using the less complex (48k) version, and applying UVmaster a couple of times in a row. Thanks again cryid & bartalon for your help & suggestions, endless respect for the polycount forum.
Well, the diagonal cutting through a square is longer then it's respective sides, so ... edit: sorry, might come across harsh and i realized you might be having problems with your pivot or something?
I know this is old, but is anybody having issues w/ installing the unwrap tools in max 10 64-bit?.. or are there any updates?.. pasted the macro and the icons in the respective folders, and there's no change to the unwrap UI..
The first one was great, the second, whilst well put together from a technical perspective, was an atrocious mess in other respects. I'm going to sit on the fence for a while before taking a look at this one.
Aw, come on. It makes her "tough" and "bad-ass". No self respecting warrior chick would be caught dead without one. Plus, I needed a reason to justify not mirroring the face uv's.
Cool thanks for the info. I'm well versed in manually unwrapping and baking environments but I'm always looking for a better automatic solution, doesn't sound like epic has anything magical in this respect.
Ammo boxes for quake2world... Still need work, but that's about what they'll look like. Needs more use of their respective colors though. Edit: Yeah, break those tables, baby. MMMM.
