++1 for Blender and a burgeoning FOSS alternative IMHO to SP, recently on the scene is AmorPaint. https://armorpaint.org/ Been following it's progress, the dev is an absolute Trojan workhorse he's already onto v3.3 within the space of a few months.
The way he has it set up, it appears to me, that he may go with a hand painterly style. At least that's how I envision it. I could be wrong with SP you can do just about anything.
How did you get the silent install to run? I've tried pushing a deployment with PDQ deploy, but it seems to get hung up with the vcredist installer. I'm using these switches: Quixel_SUITE_2.2.1_Setup.exe /SP- /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART
ah so I take it that the workflow if fine then ? I'm using substance painter to bake all my maps and never gave me an error , maybe SP only bakes the one on top and ignore the others underneath ?
Could honestly give a damn about the halo beta; it's gonna be full of 'tards and the other jokers you generally try to avoid when playing MP.. I want the SP, not the MP. I preordered crackdown for crackdown.
doom 3 hardly ran on any machine either though. i realise the logic behind that statement is kind of assanine (sp?). and i'm certainly not trying to devalue his work. his PAST work is immeasurably great.

Awesome, I really hope you're going to model and animate them, and push this prototype further, while it is similar to alien swarm, I feel, as an arcady SP focused game it starts to stand on it's own, but it can always be pushed further.
The problem is that rocks like that are rough and rigid where your armor is somewhat filigree (sp?) and deforms. Also, I don't think you're doing yourself any favors with that hue of rock since it doesn't fit into ES's color palette.
