Hi P4. Congrats on finishing the scene, I can see you put a lot of work into it. I'd like you to consider the attached chart in regards to your vegetation and underbrush placement. As it stands now, your level is missing "connective tissue". The transitions from one texture/object set to another is too stark. You should…
Switcher seems to work for the quick I need to use max for this job and then I'm back to maya, PHEW... But for long term use it just puts off the painful learning curve until later. It makes max specific tutorials hard to follow and is a bit buggy from what I hear. This chart helps figure out whats what in each app.…
"Realistic" sports games (why not just go out and play the real damn sport, it's more fun and better for you!), anything that's in the top 10 of today's singles charts, the type of music where everyone raves for 3 weeks about one single track that a person or band released, then they're never heard from again because they…
I've seen both cases. The Serious Sam engine used vertex animation exclusively, and a platformer type game I worked on for the Gamecube used a combination of both, but only for the main character. The rest of the characters used bones only. I would highly suggest going to the Garage Games site and posting this question on…
Playground Games Art Test (10K Tris) or under. This is an art test live project that I set my students. They have to make low poly fruit cart with low resolution textures and learn how to get the most out of every pixel. It was fun doing something old school for a change.
the new mario. the normal playmode is great if you are alone and bored and coin hunt is awesome with 2 or more players. galaxy is decent aswell, just couldnt be bothered to find all the stuff unlike with the new mario bros. zelda is sweet and mario cart is always good if you have people around.
What about something like this for fps use normally. A gameboard. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826169019&Tpk=n52 Plug that into the usb and reprogram the keys to work with normal PS shortcuts. I know its still a peripheral you have to cart, but its more portable than a keyboard.
cubemaps would really help this pop. Also add more light structures purhaps. Specular on the floor tiles. More medical equipment. Look at some hospital er rooms and look at all the stuff on the wall or moveable carts. Some sci fi / techy stuff would add a lot. Keep it up.
Thanks so much for sticking with me through this, FemCharles! Made a few more alterations to the model (it has been en-squish-ened!), i've also gone, like you said, to UV 1 to 1 instead of tiling. I've added a few suuuper simple gradients just as a tester but, here's what's kicking me in the fork: i can't seem to work out…
Hi there. Yah I haul shoppin' carts out of ponds and sell them back to the store for a livin'. Been doin' it for 18 years so gimme a fuckin' check please. Probably my favourite TV show now has a moving coming out this year and they finally put a teaser out on the net. Baked on a true story!
