Every Zelda game ever sucks. Everyone loves them and I don't know why. You like playing a green elf named Zelda? That is dumb. I played it and I just ran around and died, it was lame.
I kinda like the Barnacle bumps on that older iteration, they would suggest that the armor, and most likely the creature wearing it are very old. If you want to go that route, sort of a sea-elf feel to it.
Your female characters, especially the elf, have very masculine faces. Try softening and narrowing the jaw, and enlarging the eyes a bit. The sneer is singularly unattractive; a more neutral expression is probably safer.
Your folio says your a self taught recent graduate, that's confusing. Environment artists are the most in demand, They out number artists of other disciplines in a studio, but there are also 10 times more unemployed env artists than anything else too. If you wanna give yourself 100% to something then its the one you enjoy…

I don't know if I'm diggin the texture on the fiddle, looks a bit like sandpaper..or really course, but then again the fiddler is an elf/hobo type dude so i doubt he'd have Stradivarius.
If you want to practice human anatomy, why are you making it more challenging for yourself by trying to make a stylized elf character? Why not just do a human character straight up and learn from that?
Haven't posted on here in a bit, but have been busy working with @almighty_gir and @JLHGameArt on an upcoming project. Will be a bit more active now, but here is our Elf character beginnings... Base proportions: Armour variations:
