Random Rts models (made in 10 mins)
Okay, I was bored so I made these little rts type vehicles. I know they suck but I wanna ask about smoothing groups. I don't get the desired affect at the moment. Any help? Its on clear all at the moment. I tried auto smooth and stuff..but they are vehicles...you know? -

Did you get your light ribbons working? I'm doing them in 3ds Max by linking two helper points to the back of the vehicle, converting their animation trajectories into splines, then making a ruled nurbs surface between the splines. Then you just have to animate the UVs to get the texture to emerge out of the back of the… -

No, I'm actually not. Vehicle physics seem a little off with the armored vehicles (they overturn way too easily, it seems), and the tank's cornering is a bit odd, but to me (and a lot of others, apparently) it's not too bad. I've only been playing for a little over a day, but everything else seems good to me. -

The shape and normal map of the vehicle is very nice! The only thing that I don't like is how "dark" the color of the vehicle is. The seat, the cab, and the wood, look very similar in color and texture, it just seems too beat up for me. It looks very nice though, but that's just me 2 cents!
