Here's a script that will read through a text file, use line breaks as a delimiter, and show each line associated with timeline frame, starting from 0. Useful for synching animations with dialog or notes, which is really hard to do if your text is in a separate app. It's crazy that maya doesn't seem to have any native way…
I know the grind of wanting epic
renders without a studio-sized wallet. That’s why I built my own render farm,
piecing together custom nodes to crank out serious power without insane prices.
Pick a tier that fits your deadline and budget, from a handful of nodes for
small gigs to dozens for blazing-fast turnarounds. Thanks…
Hey guys, I've started making lowpoly and couldn't hold myself and try to texture at least 1 piece for PBR:) Here is what I've got so far: My goal for lowpoly is about 20-25k for the whole model and pixel density of 4k per meter. I'm planning to texture each part separately, so if I decide to make another part in the…
I started trying to clay renders of my models, and then progressed to trying to do a portrait with skin. Actually that was my wifes portrait, that was the first one I tried about 1 year or a little more ago. Vray is pretty easy once you get used it, no harder or worse than the current PBR/PBL engines, like marmoset2. I…
I use Khronos PBR - it's good for product design because it doesn't change hue, preserves saturation, and gently smooths highlights. I hope Adobe will add it natively to Substance.
Hello Everyone, I am trying to figure out how to get my UVs to be 64pixels per meter on a 512x512 texture. This is for an art test and I could really use some help. :) Thanks!
I will post tutorials for Blender and maybe some other programs in this thread. Please feel free to post questions, other posts, or even other tutorials in this thread. All the tutorials will be linked from the first post, and different parts of tutorials will be linked with each other, so your posts won't make anything…
Best place to start is the Marmoset PBR primer: http://www.marmoset.co/toolbag/learn/pbr-practice It will explain the concepts of PBR and pretty much answers everything you will want to ask. So far as actually improving your skills at texturing itself, you really need to provide us with more information. Good questions =…
Hey, just doing some portfolio/fun piece, no strict rules just a freestyle. Hard edges mostly, later on will make a high poly and soften them up with normals. Planning to texture it inside Substance Painter with a stylized PBR touch :) Already did base mesh so moving onto cleaning up and UV unwrapping Concept: 3Ds Max…
It is not possible to make the surface more reflective without increasing the reflectivity (spec map if using the specular workflow). Specular and reflections are not separate material properties like they may be in old school shaders, in a physically based rendering pipeline, and in reality, there is only specular…
