I'll take that back :( I get really weird results because of the whole "smooth" thing, but again if I set it to "linear" I loose the taper-options (aargh!) Using "smooth+curve" creates a degree 5 curve, but rebuilding that curve to linear didn't help. Edit again: Just found this:… -

If you go with the 2,718 tri lod you could probably round out the gauges, bottle and tank a bit and still come in under 3k? Especially if you delete the unseen tris. You could probably push it up to 5k or hell even leave it, 8k -unseen isn't going to be that expensive really. And as if we haven't beaten this dead horse…
