I did that for roughly 600 Euros, you can probably get away with less by not buying that expensive a graphics cards (I got a GF6800 when they were new, I just like how much mileage you can get out of an expensive card, no need to adjust to new cards for a few years).… -

Be thankful they changed it from 50MB to 150MB :P It really just depends. That's what pre-production is all about. You should be doing tests. Build a full character, and export it in your data format. How large is it? Same with a level. Build a test level, export it. Check it's filesize. You have to do tests to learn… -

I've had stupidly high poly counts on screen at once (100k) without too much of a drop in FPS or any weird engine issues. And 5000 certainly isn't a requirement. -
