Well from what I understand portfolio critique threads are more intended to address the overall presentation/usability factors of your portfolio, whereas for individual pieces you can make a WIP thread for each on and get individual feedback that way, since people hardly wanna critique an entire body of work in one go :)… -

Good on ya for being meticulous about your workflow. Helps us a lot to understand where you're coming from :) Pipeline in regards to the plank. Dyamesh doesn't make good retopology mesh. It's only useful for giving you even quads at a certain density. At best, you could use ZRemesher, but there's ways to get a good retopo… -

It really depends on what version you're using. max 9 and lower: - Disable autosave. It had several issues with stability and it also would clear out the undo list. It was fixed in newer releases 2008 SP2 or it was in with the creative extensions, I think. Don't crank up the number of undos, and don't crank back in the…
