Quick update just been made a flower and a quick leaf to add some colour variety to the foliage. I'm gonna go back and work on the leaf because i'm not completely happy with it. incase someone wants to see the highploy here they are.
Wow, man, it look awesome! I like the way tou light the scene, and models for houses and threes, they look whery nice. But there is something incomplete with vegetation. I think you lack of bushes, colorful flowers, stones or something like that.
I really appreciate the help. :) Here is my progress as of now. I want to start making the flowers and more unique looking plants now and also work on adding vines to the canopy next. Lighting still needs a lot of work.
not Pure substance, its a combo between substance and zbrush the way i work is just make one pattern feature ( for example flower ) each then let substance repeat it and generic zbrush heightmap as usual , textured in Substance instead of Photoshop .
Oooh, Pretty. Have the sand blend with the dried mud in a less uniform manner: at the moment it looks like two circular dollops of sand placed on the mud. Also paint some AO in. Really like the circular cactus with the flower on top.
Awesome. though adam, i expecting burly lumberjacks with wild chest hair, wielding great axes in one arm and large breasted red-headed women in their right, while riding magical unicorns across a sea of endless flowers.
The left one might fit sand king more if you gave it extra eyes or something? It's cool though. Looks like a spiny lizard. I like the SK heads but I'm not massively keen on the flower pot helmet for Legion.
@Ged Thanks. I agree, there is a lot of nice details to paint in and it will start to come together. I will add the little, round emissive glows. Also going to try some sort of subtle 'wisps', spiralling up from the lotus flower :)
Feel free to add to this. I'd like to spread some awareness of the spectral properties of light because I think it'd help artists (and anyone who deals with lighting and materials really) to be aware of. I'm not an expert so please correct me if there's anything wrong or unclear, but hopefully you'll find this crashcourse…
Started to add some grass in, no weeds or flowers yet though. Think I am having some shadow issues with it at the moment though bit dark looking. Had to upgrade to Unreal 4.7 to get the grass running at a good frame rate too.
