It used to be longer but dev cycles got longer and so did the crunches. Shipping one game every 5 years hurts. Ship one after a 3 year cycle, then work on some that get canned and and in no time youl be at the 5 year mark wondering what just happened to the last 5 years. -

Eh, not really because you're assuming everyone who pirates a game 1. Likes it and 2. plays it to completion or worth the price of the game. Trust, turning the game on isn't worth $60. I highly doubt a developer cares if someone pirated their game, played it for 5 minutes and never again. I know people who download games… -

You are really going to complain about $5? Seriously? That barely constitutes "money in my pocket". You can't even buy lunch for $5. Valve could sell TF2 alone for $40 if they wanted. Warhawk is doing it. An extra $5 for 4 games is not a bad deal by any stretch of the imagination even if you don't need two of them. -
